Here’s some homework for you to get you even more psyched up for the show.  First of all, check out Bonnie Raitt’s bio on her web site, and explore the rest of her site from there.  Second, theres some more great stuff with a couple of videos at All About Jazz.  Third, I just watched this interview with her on Charlie Rose back in 1995.  Kinda bizarre that she was on the show with historian Robert Massie, and Mr. Spock himself, Leonard Nimoy.  She’s sort of the sweet filling between two much drier guests.  Her 20-minute segment starts at about 22 minutes into the show.

After that we had reserved a tour at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena. I’ve wanted to go there ever since the Voyagers launched in 1977. What an amazing place. Voyager 1 is now almost 10 billion miles away, and they are still getting data from it. Here’s a pic of me geeking out at Space Flight Operations with Rob Manning, Chief Engineer of the Mars missions.
